Welome from Florida! Glad to see more young kilt wearers finding us.

Then the H.A.G.G.I.S. folks are the ones you need to talk to, as most of them are based in Cedar Rapids/Cedar Falls/Waterloo:

Hi KMS, welcome to the forum. There are a lot of good articles on the kilt and scottish history on Matt Newsome's web site http://albanach.org/advice.htm
Check those out.

Welcome Levi,
I just got a hand sewn kilt in the Scott tartan in honor of my great great grandfather Levi Scott from New Sharon, Iowa.

Welcome Levi from Australia. Feel fee to ask away around here, we're a friendly and (sometimes) informative lot.
Here's a couple of links that are great for kilt patterns and making.

I know its hard when you have not much money, but its well worth the wait to buy something decent, its will last a long time & you will be proud to wear it.

Welcome from Bavaria. I would second the recommendation to use the x-kilt pattern. I've not used it yet but have read it and will use when I get back to the states. Also as mentioned, there are some good low price kilts out there that can get you started. Welcome once again and enjoy the experience.

Tony

wow i hadnt expected this much response so soon!ill look into the xklt thing as o would like some nontartan kilts.one thing i noticed when i have read posts in the past is that sometimes your wives or gfs arent very supportive of the kilt. im happy to say that my gf is very supportive. her mother hates the thought of a man in a "dress(her words not mine).i cant seem to change her mind , but thats for anaother post. anyway thanks to all who have welcomed me with open arms into this community!i think i might just go put a post somewhere else.so look for me, and enjoy your kilthood!
