I prefer to think of it as that only Mrs. Peel was a true match for James Bond. Such perfection on this mortal coil is fleeting at best. It makes wonderful sense that forever after, Bond shall romance the various lovely ladies, but never again find his soul mate. (Says Panache who is a romantic sentimental fool at heart and finds "Young Sherlock Holmes" romantic for the very same reasons as OHMSS.
