Well, now, let's think this over.

If the 20th in IN for everybody, and the 27th is OUT for everybody, we'll just do it on the 20th. We've got a whole month to work out the details.

I'll bet there is more than one place who will let us come in to spend our money for a Burns supper. In fact, I know another very nice place a half block away owned by a very nice Irish lady who'd be glad of the business. It's a little snazzier place, but they'll let us if the pub won't! This is our supper and it's our money.

How 'bout it, Splash and SouthernScot and the rest of you guys? Is the 27th out for everybody?

I'm pretty open on dates. Another suggestion of location could be Paddy's Irish Pub on the grounds of Chateau Elan. It's along the Hwy 85 corridor so it may be easier for out of town folks to make it as well.

Guys any of the days is good for me. As far as the 85 coridor is concerned its not a problem for me I'm staying the night anyway. I'm just looking forward to coming. I just orderd a USAK in Dress Mackenzie specificly for this outing. Ain't kilting and the kilt addiction great int:

If any help is needed I will be glad to help. This will be my first Burns Supper so I may need more help than I'll beable to provide. But I'll try.

Don't feel alone. This will be my first one as well. And I am ready to jump in with both feet. As long as I don't have to fake a brogue, I barely speak english!

No fake brogues required. And anyone who will recite/read/sing/dance/toast/speak extemporaneously, etc. can have the text sent ahead of time for practice.

I'm only hoping to effect a brogue for the address to the haggis. Just makes things more dramatic, nae?

    effect
    Function: transitive verb
1 : to cause to come into being
2 : to bring about often by surmounting obstacles
3 : to put into operation

It basically means I'm trying to sound like a Scot when I address the haggis. Not trying to fool anyone, but having fun, honoring the bard (God rest his immortal soul, so mote it be), and add drama to introducing the haggis to the guests assembled.

I am sure it will be fine with everyone if you, or whoever does it, can fool at least the haggis....
