Rocky, could you tell us the mill that your swatch book is from? And also the widths this tartan is in?
Many thanks

This tartan is based on the MacThomas sett. The red lines that pass through the blue squares are rendered light blue in this version and the young lady in question is wearing the weathered colours. Another tartan which is almost identical to MacThomas is Blair.

The mill is Batley and the width is 60" for either 11 or 13 oz. If you want the material it's $65 / Yard.

I am as ever impressed with the wealth of knowledge shared among the forum members. Thanks a lot for the input. I certainly now have enough to embark on another kilt quest (to quote Hagrid: I should not have said that...)

Has anyone ever had an exchange student from Europe that was homely?. Five years ago, we had a German Exchange student, and it was all I could do to keep her away from the local wolves. And that included a local cop. When she went home, he stopped visiting us. Hasn't been here since.

I wa skinda wondering why anyone would give a flip about the tartan, when such a beautiful young lady was there.

I've always been an avid tartan spotter and usually it's the first thing that catches my eye. However it is a great excuse for looking at pretty women in tartan skirts, and telling them what tartan their dressed in is a great conversation starter !
