Looks Really cool. The only parades that I've been in, I was in a Confederate Uniform, An R.O.T.C. uniform, or band uniform. {ages ago it seems.}

Here you can see the Mummers on the move in 2006. They are something to see. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gOAD5dDerIA

Wow! That is just amazing! Many thanks for the links. I have never heard of this parade nor ever seen anything like it. I guess the closest we have to it in the United Kingdom, but not matching your parade, is the West Indian Carnival at Notting Hill in London (not that I have ever seen it, but I've seen the photos!)
I don't know if it is still done - I doubt it - but when my parents were young (early 1900s), many villages here in England had their small groups of Mummers who, I think, performed silent plays (mime) on Mid-summers Day. If it was not exactly that, it was something like it. I suspect the Mummers were, in some way, linked to the Morris Dancers who do still perform around the country in rural areas. Their traditions are very old indeed.

I have always wanted to attend the Mummers Parade, yet have never made it, alas some day I will.
Ham, I know of several Morris Dancers here in Denver. In fact one of my dear friends dances with them.
