beowolf, could you let me know about it too? I also have a new phone and would enjoy having Scotland the Brave as a ring tone.

I have a package that is actually music editing software. I download the song I want, trim it down to the part I want as a ring tone and upload it to my phone. If you can tell me the part of the song you want to use, I'll trim it down and email it to you. Then using a data cable (USB) you should be able to upload it to the phone and play it as an mp3 (sounds better than a midi).
I currently use "American Woman" for my wifes ring tone and "Cashmere" and "Sweet Child of Mine" for my other calls.

Well, don't keep us in suspense - what's the name of this music editing software?
.

It's called Adobe Audition. It will do a lot more than I know how to do but it's very easy to use.

Adobe Audition use to be Cool Edit Pro and Adobe bought them out and added a few more features and charged more money for the upgrade. I still have Cool Edit Pro. Why should I change when I still don't know how to work all the features?????

There are several. I use Audacity, but that's mostly because it's available for Linux (you can get it for Windows, BTW). Diamond Cut and Cool Edit are other good ones for Windows, but they cost.

I use a Palm Treo 680, they say I can only use midi or AAC (whatever that is). No mp3's sadly.

Excellent. I started reading this thread with interest, but was ready to be annoyed by seeing recommendations for only Windows software. Gonna go check if Audacity is in the stock repositories. (I love installing software in Ubuntu, so damn easy)
