They won't take mine mine now (as a diabetic) except for periodic tests.

So once I have mastered the pipes I can hire myself out for weddings, funerals and Bar Mitzvahs etc instead!

Yes, that's how it works here in the US too. We donate whole blood for medical needs.

The selling of plasma is a different thing and is done through pharmaceutical companies. They use the plasma for things like extracting clotting factor or, in my case, extracting tetanus anti-toxin.

And, by-the-way, this must date me, because I only got $20 a week when I did it.
