I'll be sending up some smoke for her tonight. And I'm sure she's haing a grand adventure over the bridge.
She'll have a place set for you when you get there.

Gentle-Rabble,
I spoke to Scott for awhile yesterday afternoon and he's doing as well as could be expected. He's surounded by family and friends.
He is checking the board from time to time, but he's got a lot going on, so we probably won't hear from him for a bit.
He has asked that anyone wishing to send flowers, instead make a donation in his mothers name to the cancer foundation. Flowers fade away, but a dollar given towards the fight of this disease will keep living forever, long after a cure has been found. I'm not sure if he has a specific org. that he would like us to help out, but I'm sure he'll let us know when he is able.
Scott,
Hope you don't mind my friend, but I wanted to let folks know you were doing ok.

Thanks Rikk,
We have decided that St. Jude's is the Org. We're going to support they will help anyone who needs it, and if you don't have $ they won't charge.
501 St Jude pl. Memphis tn 38105
I'm told that they will take donations over the phone as well, and send a note to us to tell us who sent it
The number is
901-578-2070
Thanks again for all your support

I remember your first post when you got the news. I hope you can find peace now yourself, knowing that your mother was well loved by you and all her family.

My condolences on your loss. I must say that I am impressed with your perspective. You are a credit to your Mother and you do her proud. You and your family will be in my prayers.

Dianne's memorial at St. Jude'sSt.judeheroes.org/goto/4dianne
I don't want anyone to think I'm asking for donations or anything, but a few people have asked and this is actually set up for her instead of it being a random thing person by person on the phone, or mail.
unfortunetly my perspective is based on 12 years of EMS. I've seen family members hold onto anything they can to try and keep someone alive, no matter how many tubes, drugs, and everything else that are attatched to the poor soul made to stay and endure pain unimaginable just to " have more time"
not this boyo

Death is before me today:
Like the recovery of a sick man,
Like going forth into a garden after sickness
Death is before me today:
Like the odor of myrrh,
Like sitting under a sail in a good wind.
Death is before me today:
Like the course of a stream
Like the return of a man from the war-galley to his house.
Death is before me today:
Like the home that a man longs to see,
After years spent as a captive.
Ancient song
