Decorative Buckles for Large Non-Kilt Belts?

Are there any decorative buckles made (especially Celtic designs) for regular, non-kilt belts that are 2 - 2 1/2" wide?

Don't know if the new website is up to show them but Freedom Kilts does carry a number of nice buckles for regular type belts and a bunch with celtic patterns.

I think Rocky and Co. carry several types of Celtic buckles for a regular belt.

If you don't want to deal with the special hook and eye type belt buckle I think you will have to settle for a simpler style of buckle for a wide belt.
This is actually better for most daywear outfits anyway.

    Cheers

Thanks for the suggestion, Jamie... However, our "standard belt buckles" (the celtic knot ones and celtic dogs) will only fit a belt up to 1.75".

The selection for buckles to fit a 2.5" STANDARD belt are slim. The best advice I can give you to make something work is to trim down the leather a bit at the "snap end" of the belt, so that it fits thru the metal () on the back of a 1.75" buckle.

Yeah, that's kind of what I've figured out... I can't find one any anywhere... There's plenty that are big enough (3" tall or in diameter), but they still fit a small belt (which has got to look weird...)

Persistence is the name of the game! I found one. And it just so happens to be in a design I've always been really fond of (Tree of Life)... Anyway, here's a link:

My father bought a clan crest kilt buckle for a 2 1/2 belt that he wears with a normal western belt. He fashioned an adapter out of bar aluminum that fits over the square clip and provides the point to fit into the normal punch hold of a belt. If I can get a photo, I will send one up.
