Excellent pics! Is geocaching like orienteering? I used to do a little orienteering to keep the map and compass skills up and have some fun, but I haven't in a long time. The kilt looks great and the kids look like they had a good time, too.

[b][SIZE=2] In Soviet Russia, kilt wears you.

It is like orienteering. A gps will get you close but in many cases you're working under acanopy of trees which renders your gps less acurate. Sometimes you're working with an accuracy of 30 feet plus the original placement of the cache had a limited accuracy on that gps. The size of the cache could be anything from a 35mm film canister to an ammo box. The kids love it, gets them outdoors. For those interested go to geocaching.com. There's undoubtedly tens of thousands of caches around the world just waiting.

Looks like fun. I might start doing some in the desert out here, where you will need 4wd to get the caches.

You might also want to let your son know it isnt just that no one will mess with a man in a kilt, but also that it doesnt matter what someone else's opinion is. You do things because they are right, not because they are popular.
