Don't know if you want to go there but there are small extension straps for the kilt straps available. If the "expansion" is going to be temporary....that might be a more expedient solution. Just do a web search and the kilt expanders will show up.

I had the local shoe repair shop make a couple sets for me. That way you can pick out the bouckle and ensure that you get the length and color that you want.
