We visited Normandy just before the 60th anniversary. My son and I walked out to the waters edge as the tide was out and looked inland. Knowing how much my combat load weighs I couldn't imagine running that distance under the fire that was coming down. The dedication and willpower they displayed to cover that ground was amazing. It is a trip worth taking for everyone.
