    Celtic Symbols

    Ok,

I'm trying to design my next tattoo, and I'd like to incorporate some Celtic knotting and animals. Can anyone point me to a book or website with a good selection of those? Thanks in advance.

One of the best books, if you want to do your own, is called "Celtic Art: The Methods of Construction" by George Bain. I've found it quite helpful.

I'll second that book. I know a NUMBER of artists who USE that book to create their work.
I also have a copy. It is VERY easy to use.

These ones are good. I use them as a reference everytime I need an idea for fresh ink http://www.bmeink.com/celtic001.html

Pat Fish has some great work. Her designs are for sale, but apparently you get a ton of info with your purchase. http://www.luckyfishart.com/

I have 3 of Pat Fish's designs. Buying and receiving the design was quick and easy. I've looked at most of the other listed sites before and they have some good ones as well. Love those Celtic tattoos because not alot of folks have them.

this thread is called "Celtic Themed Tattoos".

here's mine when it was fresh.
here's what it looks like now. it greyed out like they said it would, and the hair reduces some of the detail. i'm wondering if i should trim that area.

let us know what you decide on.

George Bain used to live down the road in Drumnadrochit and this summer there's an exhibition, lecture and workshops on Celtic art, (more details.)

Here's some of our own Celtic and Pictish art and designs, some of which has been used on tatoos.
