Casey, I manage the Raleigh, NC Woodcraft and I am wearing my kilt right now. I have only had positive comments and I have not seen anyone running for the door yet.

Sweet furniture pictured there. Don't worry about the kilt in the store, that will sort itself out. If your dad shows that kind of devotion in a birthday gift, the rest is sure to follow.
