Whether you're gaining or losing, you always need kilts that fit, right? And besides, most of us fluctuate a few pounds in either direction, so it might be a good idea to have a spectrum of sizes.
I needed to gain five pounds or so so that my kilts would stay up. My wife likes me nice and skinny, but somehow, the kilt situation made the weight gain acceptable. But, I'm six feet tall with a 30 inch waist, so five pounds gained is not something I need to be concerned with.
