Most, if not all, of the ships have got an internet cafe now, and I believe they will let you hook up your laptop there. Of course, I don't understand folks who spend the money for a cruise, then sit in front of the computer.

I did use the computer on my cruise on the Mediterranean, but that was just to send a few emails. You know, the "I'm in Europe and you're not" types of email.
