i think the rule for not wearing your mother's tartan unless you take her name is a bunch of ****!
Well as a Harmsworth I'm definately outta luck, but as a Wells... mhhh. There is a Wells tartan but I believe it's an American lineage. Plus it'd be much faster signing my name...
No it's true. Somebody even posted pictures (using Mike1's tutorial I might add). And in an amazing stoke of Hollywood casting genius they cast an actor (Mel Gibson) who looked just like William Wallace!

Hollywood? No - Orlando! (Isn't that the "Tower of Terror" at Disney in the background?)
Hmmm ... Disney did "Kidnapped" and "Greyfriars Bobby" - were there any kilt myths in them? (It's been more than a quarter century since I saw either one.)
If anybody tells me I can't wear my mother's clan tartan (Maclean of Duart), I will ask him if he is willing to tell that to Sir Sean Connery, who wears the same tartan for the same reason.
So there was a Scotland football match on today and, as such, more than a few people out and about in kilts.
Not being much of a follower of football, I didn't even know there was a game on until after it had finished.
Anyone else heard some overly absurd tartan or kilt myths recently?
Well.....yeah! I thought everyone in Scotland was a kilt-wearing football hooligan! I'm crushed.

Disney did their own version of Rob Roy back in the '50s(?). I remember it as hokey but not bad. I was 11. There were kilts.
I don't know if it's been re-released.
Read somewhere that the recent remodelling of Wallace's statue was made to look like Mel on purpose. I think it was the mayor who said that they might as well make it look like Mel since nobody knows what Wallace looked like and most people are visiting because of Mel's movie.
