Maple Leaf and/or Isle of Skye

PDCorlis made an observation in another thread about the Maple Leaf tartan being almost as popular as the Isle of Skye. I'm thinking there might be more ML. So here goes.

Which Tartan do you currently have or planning to get. PV or wool.

I currently have the Maple Leaf but when CCK brings in IoS in PV I'm first in line (behind Pete).

This could get interesting... I love my Isle of Skye but since Canada is only an hours drive away - I may have to own a ML to show my respect for our northern neighbor.

    I have both
Isle of Skye 16oz 8 yard Locharron Wool by the Scottish Company

Maple Leaf 13oz 5 yard Marton Mills PV by Canadian Casual Kilts

I love my country I really do, however I prefer the Isle of Skye it may be because mine is wool while my Maple Leaf is PV but the colours are just so subtle, the kilt really feels good you know you are wearing something special when you are in the Isle of Skye.

This is not a contest. The IoS edged out the ML after the front running Antarctic, in the recent most gorgeous tartan. This is which is more common tartan of the two with the rabble.

Well I can only speak for this Rabblite, and my Isle of Skye is more popular with me, for the reasons given and more. I thought I had the right to express my opinion on this as well.

Not picking on you Glen, just wanted to state for all, the spirit of this poll. I'm sure that tonight you will show the attributes of your IoS next to my ML .

Ah no I will not be wearing the Isle of Skye tonight. I know you're not picking on me I was just telling you why I felt I had the right to say what I said, see you tonight.

My Maple Leaf fabric is, at this moment, suffering the vagaries of the Canadian Post.
But since it's enough fabric for three kilts, do I get to vote three times?

I still cannot puzzle out how the Antarctic tartan won that poll considering how many more kilts in the "losing" tartans are actually owned!

My forefathers came from Skye, and its a beautiful tartan so I had one sewn up by Kathy Lare.

During the clearances they were shipped to Nova Scotia and hung around there for three generations, so eventually want a Maple Leaf too.

Decided to have it hand sewn out of 16 oz too. Its one of those tartans I want to properly honor with a top of the line kilt. So, a wait while the plastic stops smouldering and eventually cools down.
