alternatives to Kilt Pins

Dave: the hat pins are about 1/2 inch in height and absolutely no weight to them! I doubt they'd be useful at all.

Yeah, each one by itself would probably be too small. If one were to use them, it would work better to use a few of them together.

As far as weight though, while the kilt pin may have originally had a useful purpose, any more they are mainly decorative.
