You brought back memories. Back in the late 80s when the men's movement was afire a group of us would go out into the desert and drum together. We'd drum a while, talk a while, drum some more. A guy from Prescott who played the bagpipes and wore a kilt would often join us when we met up his way.
I missed this event but heard about it in detail. A group had gathered at Schnebly Hill to camp out and drum together. The sheriff showed up all lathered and treating them with a bit of disrespect. After they all talked things out it turned out that it was deer season and the sheriff and his boys thought the drummers were anti-hunting protestors. I always thought maybe the kilted guy helped with the "out there" image...
The guys just had no clue. Well, it was funny at the time.
