the state and we do have kilt nights from time to time.

Seriously though, I used to spend many summers (and winters) in Scotland but it's oddly only since marrying a girl in North Carolina that I'm plucking up the courage to buy my first kilt. Thanks in no small part to this board and the fact that Jerry has been answering my emails almost with nanoseconds of me sending them, I'm probably going for the SWK Nightstalker (the 38" Black Shadow Heavyweight is out of stock ). Being a bit of a 'rocker', I want predominantly black rather than shopping elsewhere for my family - Murray of Atholl - tartan. While I'm waiting for the Black Shadow to rear its head again, I was wondering whether anyone has any good pics of the tartan in the Nightstalker at all? The one on the SWK site seems to have a purplish hue to it. Jerry has just assured me that it's black and grey - how pronounced is the tartan in that particular kilt?

I've only just joined this board so I'm still finding my way around for info on both local kilt nights here in NC and where I might find members offering kilts for sale (if there's any on here of course). In the meantime, wish me luck on my choice and my tentative steps wearing my first kilt in a land dominated by hunting & Nascar!
