    Thanks James, this is just a regular looking suit vest that came with the jacket I am going to have converted. I'm trying to raise a stink about it, so I can get a good idea about what I need to do.

    Would the cut away for the sporran in the jacket show the vest if the jacket were closed?
    I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

    I need to get up and find the two jackets that I have that have vests and see. But I almost never (I can't remember the last time) button my kilt jackets. - - - so the point is mute, to me.

    Before I hit the sack, I'll try the ones on that I have and let you know tomorrow. My gut feeling is if you button the jacket the bottom of the vest is hidden.
