    And there aren't many, if any, in Scotland either. Your typical Scot is the same admixture of nationalities and races as your typical North American. The difference seems to be that while Norte Americanos are quite comfortable with having an Italian granny (or whatever), far too many Scots confuse a sense of nationhood with belonging to a race, and are unwilling to admit that no Scotsman is "pure-bred". If all Scots were 100% "ethnic" Scots they'd have a brain the size of a golf ball and both eyes in a common socket. Kinda like those folks up in Glen Whatchamacallit.

    Yes, but I think it is the remoutness from the Motherland makes us seeking for a proof and connection of belongingness. Besides, jeans are chip and durable no wander they are popular, can you imagine mid class hiking or gardening in english style casual outfit, that as expensive as formal one?
