Greetings one and all. First post!
So far, I have but one kilt, a Utilikilt workmans. It was awarded to me for entering their mock-u-mercial contest. Worn it round the house so far, and one early morning trip to the gym. Not sure what the reception will be, as this is not the most liberal of locations. However, I figure that inasmuch as I am a morning announcer on a rock station, people will just assume "business as usuall" Looking forward to a tartan one soon. Did some research and it looks like on my Mothers side, we have the MacDonald tartan. Her family name was Cook though, so I'm not sure if I'm on the right track. Any help would be swell.

Welcome - understand about the local culture or lack there of. I live in PA and so far other than some strange looks - have had no problems with the kilt. Put it on a wear it around town. If someone doesn't like it thats there problem. They can just grow up.

A hearty welcome from the foothills of the Blueridge Mts. in
NC. Good luck with the family genealogy.
I will warn you both kilts and genealogy can be quite addictive.
