In warm weather it's hard to beat an Orvis fishing shirt. The back is caped for ventilation which also make it somehow look appropriate for a kilt. I like the long sleeves because they have tabs so you can roll them and they stay in place. (Nice when the sun gets too hot or the evening breeze is too cool) There is a wide variety of colors and fabrics (most fast drying) and they wear forever. Did I mention they are also great for flyfishing?

Dickies
I rather like my Dickies work shirt. It is button down cotton twill in short sleeves. You can pick them up rather inexpensively and they wear very well. My only issue is that none of the local retailers sell them in small so I only own one in grey that is embroidered with the Hot Rod's Power Tour logo.
