    In planning:
    another DIY 13-oz hand-sewn
a commissioned one in 16-oz Carolina tartan.

    Six kilts...
4 Mocker Utilikilts brand, 1 Original (NeoTrad) Utilikilt brand and a cheap acrylic in MacDonald tartan (cut to wear off the hip) that I got on the Royal Mile.

I also have 4 yards (60") of 'Weathered' MacDonald 13oz. Wool that I can belt into a Great Kilt. (But I didn't count that as it is usually only costume wear.)

I wear kilts in the Spring, Summer and Fall when I'd otherwise want to wear shorts and on occasion for some more formal occasions.

In the summer this means in my part time retail job, just about all the time when I'm not working and once in a while at the Masonic Lodge.

My 'real job' is as a wedding photographer ...the first rule of weddings is never upstage the Bride, so unless it is a kilted wedding where they've asked me to don the kilt, I'm in casual business attire or a tux.

I wear kilts for comfort and takes a man far heartier than I to be comfortable kilted daily in the Maine winter.

I have 26 kilts and wear a kilt as my daily attire. Since it's very hot and humid here in the summer, and very cold in the winter, some of my kilts go into hibernation during certain times of the year.

I have one kilt now and one I should collect at the weekend. Both are 9 yard, 16 oz tanks.

    1. MacTavish (1439)

    And the one I'm collecting

    2 MacTavish (229) Modern

I don't wear my kilt(s) as often as I would like but this is mainly because I didn't feel comfortable with the outfits I had to go with them. With stocking up for my wedding I now have a lot of variety so hopefully I'll wear them more.

    Hiow many ?

How silly of me - how could I forget my very special kilt. This is an old Farquharson militarty kilt with a very large sett, which I found in Lamont's shop in Braemar. Nowhere near my size so I had it re-made. It was used in the First World War, so it must be around 90 years old. I wear it once or twice a year - usually just for the annual Clan Farquharson Gathering.

MacNicol Modern 8 yard in wool saxony that I made
    X-Marks 6-yard in 13 ounce that I made
X-Kilt in predator camouflage that I made
Grey Fraser and Kirkbright generic plaid 6 yard that I made
California, modern 4-yard box pleat kilt that I made

MacNaughton muted in PV from Caledonian Kilts
Holyrood in 11 ounce wool/poly blend from Caledonian Kilts
    Ramsay USA Kilts casual model
Scottish National 5-yard from the Gold Brothers

    9 kilts

"In the box", meaning fabric waiting for my return from Hawaii to get made into a kilt.

digicamo to get made into a kinguisse knife-pleated kilt
6 yards of 28 inch wide Lindsay wool/poly blend from Fraser and Kirkbright
6-7 yards of lightweight wool in Gray Stewart

and coming soon....4 yards of double-width MacNaughton, muted 13 ounce from Fraser and Kirkbright.

so when all that's done, I'll have 13 kilts. At that point I just want 2 more and then I'm done....a Hall Tartan kilt, probably either a 4-yard box pleat or a 6 yard knife pleat, and a kilt in the Capercaillie tartan. That's going to have to wait for a while because the stuff is wickedly expensive and I want a killer tank in it. I'll probably break down and buy a Stillwater Heavyweight in Black Watch, first.

I wear a kilt about 2-4 days a week, just depending.
