I live in Florida. I understand the heat and humidity problem 100%. As comfortable it is to go regimental, the fact is, sometimes it just isn't practical. But that is no reason not to wear the kilt. Get some boxer briefs and you'll be good and comfortable despite the heat and humidity.

I just started wearing boxer breifs not too long ago. I have not worn them with my kilt because it feels weird. However like you said, it's almost becoming way more practical to do that during this time of year. The jury is still out though on whether or not I'll do it.
