I guess my point is that people see them, and yet don't see them. I just don't get that part of it.
(And Stirling had a bridge!! Aaarrrggghhh!!! "Oh boy! The Highlanders are coming! The more, the merrier!" )

People only care to learn the things they "have to", like in school... "what do I need to know to pass this test", in general I don't think that most are intrested in knowedge for knowedges sake alone.

Having been to higher educational facilities myself, I have to agree. I got so tired of my literature classmated whining "Why do I have to know poetry? How will that help me relate to my patients/clients/employers/etc?" They just couldn't grasp the concept of improving the way they think through intellectual enrichment, and I couldn't get it across to them.

If nothing else, I can at least see how the episode showing the Man in the Yellow Hat and friend kilted could springboard into explaining Scottish attire to children who might not have had any interest otherwise. Glad to know it was broadcast!
