Here's a picture of the 10th Singapore Boys Brigade Pipes & Drums. I know of them, because thay wear my Clans tartan. We are proud of them for doing so.

And good on you for having the courage to wear your kilt!

Edit: Here's also a link to the Red Rose of Lochbuie, a pipe band in the Neatherlands....doubt many of them are Scottish either...

Indeed. That's why I really LOVE the answer proposed on page 1 of this thread. Happened to me the other day whilst kilted.
"Are you Scottish?"
"Nope. Not at all."
"And you're wearing a kilt...?"
"Do you wear blue jeans?"
"uhh. Yeah. Why?"
"Are you a cowboy?"
"Touche."
Depending on my mood, I may also point out the argument that UK has on their website: "If women had an appendage between their legs, I can virtually guarantee you that they would not be wearing pants."

The Fijians in the Royal Scots and The Highlanders certainly did.
Neil.
You're quite right, of course. Mind you, Fijian men wear some sort of skirt as their own national dress (apologies for not knowing what it's called), so it's not that big a stretch for them to wear the kilt, not so much as it is compared with trousers, anyway.

If only surfers could wear board shorts, most guys would have to swim in Speedos. Wear what you want.

Wear it with pride. The kilt says something about the man not where you came from.
On a side note.... the science reason you can wear a kilt - genetic differences with the human population are very, very small. We are a young species from a small founding population. Therefore, we are all related to each other. (ps I have used this one on someone who said that I did not have a Scottish accent and thus should not be wearing a kilt - they walked away in a state of confusion - I called checkmate on that one)
Have fun, walk tall and you will have a blast!

Wear the kilt. Ignore the critics.

This thread brings to mind what my mother said to people who asked why there was a piper at my father's funeral? (Keeping in mind that my father was as German as they come) "We adopted the piper." I think the same thing applies to the wearing of a Kilt. If you like it, go for it! It doesn't matter as long as there is a respect for the Kilt and the Tartan.

I love that! I can say "I was adopted by Scots!"
I can also get my DNA genealogy tested so I can say I'm xxx% Scottish. Lol. Maybe 0.007%?
