    georgeblack7 - agree entirely.
    especially dont let a package deal dictate to you which tartans etc you can have as this is usually based on what cheap deals the shop can get and the choice is limited. the best way is to hand pick everything exactly as you wan it so you feel it is your own kilt outfit because you wont be buying this very often...

    Definitely! And whatever you do, don't settle for anything second or third rate for this kilt. It will last you a lifetime if well made and of good materials. Jackets are relatively cheap, bonnets, hose, and the like ditto, the Kilt is the big thing and the foundation for all that follows.
