Thank you all! I should have known that shirt would detract from the kilt itself The RK is a bit more work than a box-pleat but worth it, I think.

As for the wrinkle factor, that is the pleat pattern used by both Utilikilt and Union Kilt (the examples we own, that is) so at least we're in good company. His box-pleat camo kilt wrinkles just as "well." I might have to break down and spend more than $3/yard, get some nice poly-cotton next time. He needs a black kilt and maybe a tan/khaki solid.

Now back to the MacWerner watch -- I'm up to fringing it!

What say trying a full-apron box pleat kilt in a nice wool tweed?

BTW, kiltedinUSMC gave me a quick report on Bob's X-Kilt and said it looked as good as any "professionally" made kilt. All righty, then! I'm looking forward to seeing your stuff in Ventura....bring 'em all!

I've been keeping my eye out for tweeds since the recent spate of them here. . . right material, right price will come along if I can be patient.

Awww, thanks guys! I'm hoping to have the MacWerner Watch completed for the Friday night dinner in Ventura -- we have tickets courtesy of my sister -- and maybe even a jacket conversion to go with it. Or he may be wearing it casual with a black polo!

But I'll drag them all along in any case. Proud to show off and pleased to be asked to!

    Kingussie kilt

This is a good effort and I can do no better.
But, the problem with a kingussie kilt is if you gain or lose weight the centre pleat is no longer central, and the pocket are not positioned right.Saying that though it doesn't really matter a hoot if you can make yer own.
Next kilt try and make a knife pleat version. And we wanna see ya knees laddie!!
By the way I have seen and held the kingussie kilt and is great albeit a light (weight)kilt.
