I'm actually wearing my wool Nightstalker right now, thanks to this thread! It put me in the mood for it. Nightstalker and an Iron Maiden t shirt. Can't beat that!

    This is the shirt.

Don't forget that the StillWater kilts come in a 24" lingth. That just happened to be right around the proper lingth for me, but the fabric is thin enough to be hemmed. I've read that can even help a little with the light-weight-ness issues on the acrylic standards.

I own two heavyweights, and half a dozen standards. I wear them on a regular basis, and they've held up well over the year or so I've been wearing them. I can't say enough good things about Stillwater.

Welcome from Fort Worth! I don't own a Stillwater, but I've only heard good things about them.

I have two of their standards. Let me tell you, I love them both. They are comfortable, look good, and are a great price. Add in the fact that SWK's shipping bends physics and the space time continuum so that you get your kilt faster than you can imagine, and you cannot beat it for the price. I highly recommend their standards, especially if you do not want to break the bank on a new kilt. As for the heavyweights, I do not own one. But once again, great price, superior customer service. And if you like wool, they are probably right up your alley.

I bought a wool Leatherneck box pleat from Jerry last year, and I think it is has the best cost:benefit ratio of any of the 8 or so SWK's I've bought. I have worn it in hot and cold , humid and dry, windy and calm, rain and snow, and it still looks new.

I LOVE my SWK heavy!!! *insert "pry out of my cold, dead hands" quote here* I wear it for more dressed up occasions. Most recently at a big fancy charity art show/auction. VERY well received.

I bought youth kilts for children in my family at their request--and tried Jerry for these. They should take a beating and still hold up well enough to look sharp in the family photos

    Speaking of fabric...

How does the SWK acrylic compare to PV?

I have a Neokilt in PV, but nothing in wool. I'm contemplating a SWK, but have no reference point for their acrylic. So I'm leaning toward one of their wool ones.

The acrylic is a looser weave and is a bit fuzzy. PV is a very tight, dense weave.

    I'd prefer PV over acrylic.
