This is a set of Single flashes I made out of ACU ripstop for Warlocks Apoco-Kilt that has a "Crisis Pocket."

Flashes with my favourite challenge coin.

Flash with hidden pocket

Now you see it, now you don't! Well almost...Challenge coin hidden.

Looks good. I think all three types have their purpose, but I think that probably looks the most military.

I like both garter ties and the double flashes myself.

I've tried several different sizes, and for me the only flashes that do not dig in are the ones that came with my Royal Naval Assocciation tartan kilt from Barb Tewksbury, I'm not sure it's the width that matters but rather the length, even Locharron flashes dig in when adjusted to full length.

Garter ties, as most have said, are the best way to go for me because of the size of my calf. The elastic digs in. At the end of the day with garter ties, there are no marks and I really do not notice that I'm wearing them.

I made a set just like that for St. Paddy's Day to go with my SWK Irish National.
I can understand the guys with larger calves dislike of the elastic digging in but did you guys try a larger length? The adjustable ones are more a "Universal" devise designed to adjust to Average sizes. If your lags are larger than that or the elastic is stretched out so far that it's becoming uncomfortable, why not just get longer ones?

I even gave away the flashes that I purchased with my Black Stewart from USAKilts as they were uncomfortable at the longest setting, so I have tried many different ideas, however in my case I tried the garter ties as they are readily available, and they worked for me, therefore I stopped looking for another solution.

A regimental coin, which is used to challenge other folks at a bar for a drink. If you don't have your coin then you owe the person who "coined you" a drink.
