I have only been off of the main island once in my trips to Singapore. It was an afternoon trip on the Ching Ho to a little island south of the refinery. When I make it there again we will have to get together.

Your kilt looks like the perfect length (just above the knee) for hiking. Was that planned? What is the length of your Amerikilt if you don't mind my asking? Thanks.

DirK: Yes we must. Mighty lonely here. Hard to have a Kilt night of one!
Woodsman: Yes the length was perfect, but not by intention. I had ordered a 22in at first but something told me to change it to 20in. I only found out about kilt burn and the ideal length for hiking later on.

Return to Ubin
Returned to my favourite hiking spot today with some friends:
At the end of the hike we got a bite to eat at the village eatery. I looked up and saw above the bicycle rental shop next to us, a banner proclaiming "Scotland's For Me!". This came as a complete surprise, being in the middle of the boonies. Decided I had to get a picture with it.

Ha! Thanks for the great photos and the "cultural whiplash" observation. You wear your kilt very well!

Nice photos. I like the menu board over your right shoulder. Did you have the steamed leather jacket w/salted soya beans?

Heh, I knew some of you would get a kick out of the menu board. Unfortunately we didn't stay long enough to order a proper sit down meal. I hear the leather jacket's quite tasty.
You do know it's a fish, right?
