And another confirmation.... I shall be in the Royal Oak, Oxford from 6:30pm. I guess it won't be hard to recognise me - the only other kilt wearers are likely to be students of 18-21 so a 50 yr old should be easy to spot! I'll either aim to be near the bar or on the LEFT hand side as I think there might be a Quiz Night there on Mondays.
If anyone has a problem finding it, my mobile will be on (07785 222380).
All the best
Graham.

So, the 10th arrived and London Piper and I had an excellent drink in the Royal Oak. We were suitably chatted up by the female bar staff and Landlady and we even entered the pub quiz - and although there were mainly students there training for University Challenge, we did manage to get a few of the answers that they didn't (age has something to do with it!).
Thanks to the two or three of you who left apologies - I'm afraid my mobile didn't get a signal once I was inside the recesses of the bar.
So, guys, what about another evening and a real go at turning out? Incidentally, they do food there until 10pm, so we could grab a bite to eat too. Alternatively, LP had a few ideas about other places to try out of town.
What say you?
Best wishes
Graham.

I am sorry not to have made it the other evening, yes, let's have another try. I am around Gloucestershire for a week or two, now, and will return for another couple of weeks at the end of January. I will try to fit in around those dates.

I'll certainly make every effort to attend the next one. Glad you had a good time. I'd have loved to have been involved with the quiz too!
