I like the idea. The colors of the Hungarian flag would look good. When I had my kilt tailored the woman working in the shop was sure I was related to Macbeth. I don't think there is a connection with my Hungarian peasant grandparents and Scottish royality but she was pleased to think so.
My wife isn't too keen on my wearing the kilt but hey, who wears the kilt in this family.

The Leslie ancient green is a nice-looking tartan.
Funny how these threads lead to Googling about the Internet, innit?

Hmmm. I wikied the Clan and found that there Bartolf (Bartholomew) is identified as morely likely to have belonged to a tribe of Norse brigands, who sometimes ruled different parts of Eastern Europe.
Other than his service to St. Margaret's mother, and later herself, no description of an actual Hungarian connection.

The Chief of Clan Leslie, the 21st Earl of Rothes, says that the official position of Clan Leslie is that the Hungarian story is the correct version.
