I used to think that at first, but I was wrong. It is a bit confusing because you can dress down one step in formality and still be acceptable.
I was only saying that a Prince Charlie, and I'm going by the description of the components, does not look like a tuxedo with the tails chopped off and the satin buttons replaced with silver buttons in the same number and place. I can't look at the pictures, so I may be completely wrong.
I know now that the PC is worn when a tuxedo would be worn, so I'm not argueing about that; just that anything worn with a tux would not necessarily work with a PC.
