Thank you for the kind words. There is an awful lot of color in there, glad it all managed to balance itself out.

...I know matching tartan ties and kilts give Ham apoplexy but I like the look, with just a bit of the tie from the waistcoat even better.

I think the rule one should follow is one and only one matching tartan item with the kilt.

So you can have...

1 Pocket square

or

1 cap

or

1 set of flashes

or

1 bow tie or regular tie

If I had worn my matching flashes and cap I would have looked like that Scottish superhero ... Galbraith Man!
