I should like to add my congratulations on your forthcoming marriage also.
Regarding the kilt pin: each of my kilts has its own pin and once placed and pinned correctly, it is not removed unless the kilt is being cleaned. Constant pinning and unpinning will soon damage the fabric since it is almost impossible to site the pin in precisely the same position time after time. Neither the pin nor the kilt will take any harm if the pin is left in situ during storage.
