The book was published in 1999. The photograph of Maclean of Dunconnel, though, must have been taken prior to his death in 1996.

Interesting observation there. Nearly always with Highland attire the "less is more" school of thought is the one that really works. As opposed to the "wear everything" theory, including the kitchen sink!
