    Irish Step Dancing is not Highland Dancing. Their dresses don't swirl at all when you spin.

    Glad she's enjoying herself just the same tho.

    I didn't mean to insinuate that I thought they were one in the same... Sorry!

    and yes - she is quite happy with her dancing... now she wants to learn belly dancing too...

    Maybe a touch young for that. But I fondly remember at last year's Maryland RenFair listening to the Rogues, watching a pretty lass on the right in a green tartan dress doing traditional dancing, and an equally pretty lass on the left in what can only be described as a harem outfit and chain mail bikini, belly dancing, to the same music! Ah the Middle Ages as they should have been!

    Lol, quite the contrast with Irish dance! It's never too young to encourage our youth to stay fit by starting dance classes of any type. Dance is a fun way to keep a child active without them knowing it's fitness. Irish dance will work the legs, belly dance will work the core muscles. All that and super shiny, flashy and swirly costumes? Nothing but net.
