    Result:

Susan came second alas, losing out to a male dance group called Diversity.

She was extremely gracious and certainly has a fantastic career ahead of her.

She was certainly the TOP singer of which there were several.

WELL DONE SUSAN- look forward to your first album!

Let's not overlook 10 yo Hollie Steel who came back from a very emotional performance last night to a flawless performance tonight.

IMHO Hollie was nothing brilliant and she got special treatment - nobody else who messed up got a second go the way she did and other tearful kids who didn't get through were not allowed their mothers to rush on stage and comfort them. A much better act was denied the opportunity of being in the final because the judges didn't dare choose him over her simpering cutesey crying act. There was a lot of contraversy over here about that.

But I doubt that any other singer would have beaten Susan in the final and she is crying all the way to the bank - earnings of £8 million are projected within 12 months - 80 times what she missed out on in the competition.

The little girl who forgot the words to the song, I thought that was a part of the act. Christopher Plummer done the same in the sound of music, and Julie Andrews had to run on the stage and help him out. Maybe little Hollie
should have sung goodbye goodbye its time to say goodbyeeeeeee.
But I did feel sorry for her.

No Jock, Captain Von Trapp (Christopher Plummer) did not forget the words he was overcome with emotion at the thought of having to leave Austria due to the Nazi occupation.

Hollie played on the natural sympathy people feel when one so young makes a mess up in a situation like that - I felt the same for Phil Pugh too because his nerves failed him in the semi but he wasn't given two minutes to reprise The Impossible Dream.

There was a brilliant young drummer who wasn't even selected to appear in the semi finals who yet who got loads of praises from the judges at his audition - his tears were genuine but he took it like a pro.

You are right McClef, it's not fair on the others. I was hoping the father and son River Dance act would win. (but not everyone has my type of humour)I hate these dancing dog acts. If I thought I could get as far as some of these mutts, I would teach my own dog to dance to swawn lake

His name is Jamie Pugh Trefor and I don't think we've heard the last of him, at least I hope not. I think Simon Cowell had a difficult decision to make and he made the right one. Some things are more important than the rules Jamie Pugh is mature enough to handle this, to somebody so young it could be devestating. She showed amazing courage to come back, but we all knew that due to the 2nd chance she would never win the final.
