Black Stewart Kilt Pleated to the Stripe

I have started saving my nickels and dimes for a semi-formal USA Kilt. The tartan that I plan on getting is the Black Stewart. I like to have everything planned out before I make a purchase, that way hopefully, I will have no regrets when I get the kilt.

I have recently become quite a fan of pleating to the stripe. However, I remember a post where Barb T. was saying that some tartans don’t pleat well to the stripe (confirm?) So, I started to do some online research and I cannot find any pictures of a Black Stewart kilt pleated this way. Does anyone have a Black Stewart kilt pleated to the stripe, or a photo that would show this? I don’t want the Black Stewart kilt to be my first kilt that I am unhappy with.

Other kilts that I have on my wish list would be, in order of future purchase, the Stewart Old Sett, pleated to the sett, the Stuart of Bute pleated to the stripe and a Stewart Dress with an undetermined pleating style. For these kilts I am still unsure what kilt maker I am going to use but they will all be 8 yard tanks, tentatively.

I have a Black Stewart kilt and I do have a picture of the back but I can't add an attachment to this. My email is wlverines@comcast.net . If you care to send me an email I'll send you the picture that way.

I have one pleated to the stripe also. Mine is pleated to the black and blue(the red is hidden). I have seen them pleated to the red and it make a greater contrast with the apron. It was my second Kathy Lare Kilt and I got it13 years ago as my solo kilt, I liked the way the red flashed when I marched, I can take a picture tonight and send it to you if you still need one.

See photos of my kilt in Stewart Black pleated to stripe in my photo album. I think it looks pretty cool; when standing still the red is prevailing and while walking the black is popping out.

    Regards!
