I had to work a Midnight Madness Sale at the music store I work at. Since it was Saturday, and my operations manager wouldn't be there to tell me to go home and change, I decided to wear a kilt. Since I have to wear a black, collared shirt, I figured the Black Stewart would go well. I matched it with my plain black leather sporran, black socks rolled down, my trusty black Converse, and the black flat cap I wear all the time. My co-workers are pretty much used to me wearing a kilt now because most of them have seen me in it at some point. I got a few nice compliments, and even had one very attractive girl tell me that I looked 'really good' in it, much to her boyfriend's dismay.

The best, by far, happened in the middle of the day. A good customer of mine who is about 18 or 19 saw me in my kilt and started raving about it. He and his band mates had just been talking about kilts and how he thought they were cool. He said he didn't even know where to get one or how much they cost. I flipped my sporran open and pulled out one of the cards that I received from Jerry at Stillwater last time I ordered from him. I handed it to him and told him that you can get a thrifty for pretty cheap. He said thanks and went on shopping. I caught him later with the other guitar player in his band looking at guitar straps. I walked up and told him that he had to get a kilt, and then match the strap to the kilt. He agreed and said he was going to hold off on the strap. I caught his guitar player alone and asked if he was serious about getting a kilt. He said that I had no idea and had been talking about a kilt the whole time he was in the store after I gave him the card.

Looks like we have a new convert. As soon as he gets it, I will let him know about the site. Makes me feel good about myself, helping someone get into something like a kilt.

All in all, a good day.

I think I am going to go for a round or two of miniature in golf tomorrow. Maybe I will convert some more people.
