It's a man's privilege to wear a mini kilt just as much as a woman has a right to wear a mini skirt
BUT
This has to be subject to the caveat that a man's anatomy dictates that his kilt should not be quite as short as some women can wear.
My "mini" kilt is seventeen inch length, compared to my knee length kilts which are twenty three or twenty three and a half inches. Yes quite a few women have told me I suit the mini but I would not want to wear anything shorter.
One would never go regimental in a mini kilt as it is not a traditional kilt.

My great-grandfather used to say, "Every fellow has his way and every fellow's way is right." My own way does not include mini kilts, but I will try to keep an open mind about those who do wear mini-kilts.

He wasn't in the parade. (sorry, my computer put my second sentence first) He was wandering around behind us as we watched. I noticed that it did close on the correct side for a man, so it wasn't a lady's kilt, it was his measuring that was off.
It was a 4th of July parade of course! The kind where every float was throwing candy or ping pong balls you could redeem for snow cones...every dentist's worst nightmare (or dream come true. lol)

It is "anyones" privilege to wear what ever they want, when ever they want, so long as it is fine at their place of employment and breaks no laws. But you can't dress up a cat and call it a person, no more than you would call shorts "mini pants". It's a kilt or it's not, sorry but thats the way it is. There is no such beast as a mini kilt.

I like to think of it as a kilt sized for a shorter person. If the garment was off the peg, and the gent was rather slender, the size might be a vendor description issue. I need at least 24" to wear the garment at the kilt waist. When I was younger, I wore a 26" kilt. By today's off the peg charts, I am lucky to find one at 17" long. That would be way too short to be worn as proper kilt length. Having gained an extra 8 to 9 inches has ended that problem.

I agree.
And might I also add that while it is a person's right to choose what to wear, it is not within that person's ability to choose how he or she is perceived.

I'd say it's rude for a guy to be wearing a kilt that's way too short, nobody wants to see that, seriously. I wouldn't do it, nor would I walk around shirtless in this shape, nobody needs to see that.
