    Yikes...

My husband, my daughter and I went down to Richfield, Utah for the 4th. They have a parade culminating with a fair of sorts. My husband spotted a guy in a kilt, so I turned around and the guy walking by was wearing a Sportkilt.....but not just any Sportkilt, it was a mini kilt. Came to about mid thigh. I prayed right then that A) he wasn't regimental and B) he wouldn't come stand by us as it was windy and I was sitting on the ground next to my daughter's stroller.

I know people have problems with wearing kilts too long but yikes!

P.S. the tartan was nice though!

I believe some do not even realize they wear their kilts way too short... or buy off ebay and are buying womens kilts.. You can only help the ones that want help... and others will stumble blindly through it all.

Richfield?? That's right up the road a ways from Page...Wouldn't have expected a kilt there....looks like the kilt fashion boom is fanning out into the hinterlands....even if a tad short of cloth...

What kind of a parade was it? Some cities have crossdressers in their parades.

I'm no cultural expert...but from what I know about Richfield, Utah, my guess its one of the last places you'd find a cross dresser in parade. Could be wrong though...Richfield is sort of a home to Southern Utah parole and probation, a large Navajo boarding school, and many residents are members of Utah's largest faith....

But hey....there are recent infusions of "liberal thinkers" in Southern Utah towns like Escalante and Kanab....so who knows for sure?

Squeaky - can you tell us a bit more about the parade? Guessing it was just a plain old home town 4th of July parade like here in Page, Arizona. I've worn kilts in our local 4th of July parade but ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS the proper length for a gentleman.
