Well, after browsing their web page I am going to have to say it----I will not and would not recommend shopping this company, despite the nice product CMcG describes above.

They are a Gold Bros outlet as can be seen by their offerings of "Heritage" brand tartans, but that is not the reason to boycott them. This, however, is:

    http://www.thescotlandkiltcompany.co...ilt-p-478.html

They are selling kilts in a tartan called "Skye Isles" which looks distinctly like the copyrighted Isle of Skye tartan that the Gold Bros have previously been sued for copyright infringement. Although I bet there is a subtle difference in the thread count allowing them to get away with it this time on a technicality, it is still unethical and poor business practice in my book.

    Nuff said.

Although I was aware of the infamy of the Gold Bros, I was unaware of the extent of their history of intellectual property violations. Google just told me there was also an issue with them and the Princess Diana Memorial tartan... The Scotland Kilt Company is supposedly independent of the Gold Bros (though they distribute many of the same products) and it is sad to learn that they are also making the same mistake by selling the "Skye Isles" knockoff.

I have recently been corrected in my mistaken accusation that The Scotland Kilt Company, the apparent offending agent in this situation, was a part of the Gold Bros company, when in fact, although it sells much of the same branded items and the Gold Bros "heritage" line of tartan kilts, it does not appear on any of the Gold Bros. sites as being on of their owned and operated businesses. My apologies for this mistaken accusation have been made on another thread.
