I we are not going to put a sizable logo in the center of the front or back then we should probably go with a nearly completely tartan jersey, or almost all tartan with a fade to a smaller area for a smaller logo----unfortunatley no one but us will know what the smaller logo stands for, not usually the idea of a logo on a jersey.

I would prefer a fade to white or the yellow in the tartan, as stated before for safety reasons, as it is more bright and visible under all but the worst lighting conditions.

I'm good with more tartan and maybe the small crest shown above (if desired/approved) on the breast or sleeve. Going that route, I'd opt for the tartan being at the top and fading out around the bottom edge.

Given that there is no other tartan cycling wear out there, I feel like the tartan is the "logo". That is what people are actually going to notice and that will spur the conversation about Where did you get it, Is it a group,...

Just a bump to keep the interest and momentum going. Any new thoughts, ideas or discussions?

I think we have a general design and now we just need to determine the fine details before we send it off to the vendor for a quote.

Can you put a "final" set of design pix that expressed what's been discussed to date?

At this point, I think the detail we need to come to a consensus on is whether there should be a large logo, small logo or any logo at all. There have been essentially two logos proposed. One being the words "Tartan Riders" written across the jersey or on the panels, the other the blue and white shield/crest above. Any further discussion or would anyone care to make a motion?

I know we had talked about black shorts but while digging through the vendor site I found the pre-dyed color selections offered on the shorts and they have a Navy blue that could be the color we fade the tartan into. They have 7 colors but the Navy will probably work better I think. It compliments the tartan rather than contrasting with it.

Basically, the white panels would be tartan fading into the solid blue. The same effect would be on the jersey but what is the preference on fading of the jersey? Tartan around the shoulders fading to blue around the waist, blue around the shoulders fading to tartan around the waist, tartan on one shoulder fading diagonally across the body to blue (ala great kilt),...?

My personal preference is tartan around the shoulders fading to blue around the waist with no crest. I'll try and put together a mock up sometime this weekend.

    Any other preferences?

I'm personally not a fan of the crest. The jersey design I like best so far is Squeaky's, but with a smoother fade.

WooHoo! Finally got around to figuring out GIMP. I'll do some better mock-ups using the templates later but these show a smoother fade. I threw in the fly plaid look just because.

Good work Cav. I like both the blue fade to tartan and the white fade to tartan. If we are going to do to shorts to match I think we should stick with the blue bade to tartan and use the navy shorts. I don't thikn for the shorts you would have to do the fade, though, just fill in the tartan where the white currently is.

Obviously the white fade to tartan would be more visible and probably mroe striking, but I think unless we did a similar white fade to tartan in the shorts panels then navy blue for th rest of the shorts it might look funny.

    Great effort.
