Not at all, Matt. I was talking about lace making, an old and skilled craft, not knitting. There is a difference. If the OP wishes to invest time (and money) acquiring the equipment and skills necessary I am sure he will have an absorbing hobby and, one day, might be able to create something approaching lace.
