As a matter of fact, the other bonnet that I have the torrie is in the shape of a pineapple or thistle and is the same color as the bonnet itself. I like this one better because it's the only one I've seen like it.

Dream on! I think that my bonnet may be the same colour, it certainly has had the same treatment. Can I find a replacement in the same original colour? Can I heck! Although, shhh , I can't say too much as there are things going on behind the scenes that may rectify this situation. Watch this space. Then JD you will have absolutely no excuse to be improperly dressed!

    Black Watch Bonnet

When I toured the Black Watch Museum this summer, I had planned to purchase one of their bonnets at their gift shop. I seen it on the internet a year or so earlier. I was disappointed they didn’t have my size.

Well my friend, Chris Taylor has turned that disappointment to joy. With his being a distributor for Robert Mackie he sent me this week the real McCoy, the Black Watch bonnet made to Ministry of Defense standards.

Today was Kilted Friday so I wore it today for the first time. Not one of Redshank’s usual offerings at the Dunadd Trading Company but if you would like one, Chris can get it for you. It is a simple process of filing in the contact form and waiting for his reply, he will order the Black Watch Bonnet for £65.00 including worldwide shipping and handling.

It is superbly made and a rather unique Scottish bonnet. In reviewing the Roll of Honor of the Black Watch soldiers who gave their lives to King and Country in the Great War there were many of my surname, Malcolm and of my mother’s family, Robertson. I’ll wear this bonnet proudly. Thanks, Chris!

Late Edit: I've jocked my bonnet!

    MC,
I really like that jacket you're wearing.

And your new avatar is pretty spiffy, too!

Right, you are! One of the talented fellows here on the forum made it for me. He along with his beautiful wife aslo make some great looking bake goods! Which I can only assume taste as good as they look!

    Great Thread.
Here I post my Balmorals pics.

In 2006 I was hunting in San Martin de los Andes in Neuquen Province.
I really miss the shot with the bow, and my friend do the job with his rifle.

    Same place but different year.

I also have a lovat blue Balmoral I will take a pic as soon as possible.

    Best ragards,
    Patricio

Now that you’ve jocked that bonnet, Mael Coluim, it does look good.
As for Jack Daw, perhaps you should reconsider your mantra:
“It's not too hot in Houston, it's not too hot in Houston, it's not too hot in Houston.”
Actually, I keep my bonnet for winter, when it is chilly (as it is now). I really need it in this weather.
Ah well, your summer is ending, ours is on its way!
    Regards,
    Mike
